An integral component of the liturgical life of the Church, sacred music deals directly with both the glorification of God, as well as the sanctification and edification of the faithful.

An altar server attends to supporting tasks at the altar such as fetching and carrying, ringing the altar bell, helps bring up the gifts, brings up the book, among other things. Their primary job is to assist the priest in offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
